We always aim to show you those interesting places and things to do, to make your stay in Ibiza memorable, therefore today we will tell you about those hippy markets which are so popular on our island. These places are discussed below and they are sure to leave you with lovely memories, amongst other things, of your visit to the island. Directly from our Villa Rental Ibiza Blog.

We would like to discuss the most important and popular markets on the island, some might say,a must to see … You will find them in different places in Ibiza and they open alternative days of the week, not coinciding (so that you can visit them all without any problem). In these markets, in addition to buying, you can stroll around, enjoy performances by artists, listen to music, eat, drink … In each of the stalls each vendor or artist display their creations, which are very varied in terms of themes and origins; leather, exclusive objects, clothing, handbags, footwear, jewelry, accessories, music, art and original crafts … everything you can imagine.

We can start with Las Dalias, and its famous hippie market, held every Saturday and Monday nights, on the road to Sant Carles. This market has been held for 20 years, started with about 5 stalls and today there can be more than 200 and up to 20,000 visitors on any particular Saturday in August. It sells Adlib clothing, jewelry, sandalwood, exotic musical instruments, ethnic music, jewelry, decorative fabrics, figurines, antiques, sarongs, books … As we said before, everything …

The second most important market in Ibiza takes place in the beach of Es Canar, the Punta Arabi hippy market. The largest market in Ibiza, it is opened from Easter through to October, every Wednesday from 10.00 to 18.30 hours. The market occupies the streets of the urbanization Club Punta Arabi. There are several restaurants and a central tent which hosts live concerts. This year it has reached its 40th anniversary!. And you will find almost everything in the 400 stalls which make up this great market.

Another market which may not be as important as the previous ones but is also very tempting, is the craft market of Sant Joan de Labritja. It is organized every Friday mornings, in the summer months. Its a Traditional HandMade Market situated next to the church and the main street of village, and is open from 09 pm to 23 am hours at night. It brings together craft-makers, painters and artists living on the island who wish to sell their “ works”, local and ecological products.

See you next week!.
