In the south-west coast of San José, after a leisurely drive down the hill you will find the delightful and very family friendly beach of Cala Vadella, a protected bay and natural port with a sandy stretch of approximately 270 m length and 50 – 70 m width, surrounded by pine-clad forests.

With its clean, white sand and emerald coloured waters, surrounded by romantic fishermen’s huts it is an ideal place to view the fantastic sunsets. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, but there is also a large area to shelter from the heat.

Alongside the beach there are also recommendable restaurants (Maria Luisa, Cana Sofía, Can Jaume) and bars ( Vedella Beach Bar) to eat authentic paellas, fresh fish or simply a lighter summery dish or “tapa”, as the Spanish say.

On the beach there is a diving center, and you can rent water sports equipment.
