Ibiza is a small island, but has many different faces. Which areas are the best for a great stay in a private villa, yet close to all the beach life and the action?
Despite being so small, a mere 35 km long and 15 km wide, Ibiza has many different sides to it. If you are going for a private villa to spend your holidays in, you want to make sure that you are in the right neighbourhood, or maybe with no neighbourhood at all. Everything is possible in Ibiza. And at Villa Rental Ibiza we have a profound knowledge of the different areas, the distances and travel time required to get around and can advise on the best beaches, whether they are family friendly or rather adequate for adults only, where to sunbathe in the nude or find a hidden cove close to your rental villa. Here are some of our favourite villa rental areas of Ibiza.
Talamanca is a great long beach, right next to Ibiza old town. It connects the yacht harbour and the little town of Jesús. The large round bay is quite busy in the summer, and has a long soft entrance into the sea, which makes it a great beach for children. There are a large number of good restaurants and bars alongside the beach, from where you can enjoy great views to Ibiza old town and to Formentera. You have all sorts of restaurants lined up here, from your Italian pizza parlour to the upscale (and quite costly) beach club. The area of Talamanca is a very demanded rental area, and you will find more apartments here than villas, which makes it a rather expensive rental area.
On the other end of Jesús, still close to the city, however somewhat separate is the area of Cap Martinet, a zone of mostly luxury villas owned by celebrities or rented by celebrities and VIPs. From here you get some of the best views to the sea, the yacht harbour and Ibiza old town, yet you can enjoy full privacy. Cap Martinet has its own little beach called “Sa Punta”, where you find a lovely restaurant with the same name. At the very end of it, on the rocks overlooking the water, you have the fantastic fish shack “María’s shack”, where you can get freshly grilled sardines served with some of the best views on the island.
If you are looking for a peaceful area, yet without being too far away from the hustle and the bustle, this exclusive residential area, just outside Jesús town is the one for you to rent a holiday villa in. Can Furnet is a fully gated and upscale development of houses surrounded by a pine tree forest and protected by a 24hr security service. Jesus with it´s lovely restaurants is just down the hill, and into Ibiza town it is a mere 5 min. drive. You are close to all the night life like Pacha night club and Lío, however still sufficiently distant from the noise of the famous Ibizan night life. Here you will find mostly expensive villas, however there are a few, which are still decently priced.
About 15 kilometres from Ibiza town and five kilometres from San José, alongside the southwestern coast you have some great beaches, which are quite close to one another and offer great facilities and an amazing environment. Cala Tarida y Cala Molí, are great places to view a sunset on a lush summer evening and are rather quiet and peaceful areas for villa rentals compared to the buzz, which you will find closer to Ibiza town. Cala Molí is a rather hidden and small beach, located at a five minute drive from Cala Tarida, which is a long, sandy stretch. With it´s half sandy, half pebbly ground, Cala Molí is not what you would call a family beach, and also the entrance into the water proves somewhat difficult. However it is a great bay for some serious snorkeling and a fantastic escape from the rather busy beaches on the coast. Cala Tarida is fully developed and a wonderful beach for little children. Here you can find all kinds of water sports activities and restaurants with a great offer of typical Ibicencan dishes. The holiday homes you will find here for rent range from moderate to very expensive, adapting to many different requirements.
And finally here is another top villa rental area: Sant Josep de sa Talaia or San José as the Spanish say. It is a little, tranquil town on the south western coast, and from here you have easy access to a vast number of beaches, such as Cala Vadella, Cala Conta, Cala Bassa, Es Cubells and Cala Tarida. Around the village you will find a lot of authentic and renovated country villas, however also the ocasional minimal luxury estate. It is a great base to disconnect from the world, however still close enough to Ibiza town and its attractive night time events.
